Sports

"Plane Ride - In our sport it is natural and necessary to set up goals to inspire us. We all want to achieve the next level, the break-thru performance. What we (all of us) must not forget is that the journey to these goals is the best part. The daily process of obtaining success takes up the majority of our time and effort throughout our lives. Remember to appreciate what you've done in the past and what you are doing in the present on your way to higher goals. This will allow you to always strive for something more without missing out on the fact that your path to success is as much a starting point as it is a finish line." ― Matthew Alan

"Sports can unite worlds, tear down walls and transcend race, the past, and all probability. Unlike life, sport matters." ― Shehan Karunatilaka, Chinaman: The Legend of Pradeep Mathew

The event was inaugurated by Mr Harbir Singh, General Manager (Human Resource) and Acting Regional Executive Director(ER). The program started with the lighting of the traditional lamp, RSCB-ER-flag hoisting, and releasing tri-colour balloons in the sky. During his inaugural speech, he emphasised on the importance of sports.

After inauguration, the program followed by many sports events like Passing the Ball, Flat Race, Balance Race, Pick up the ball, Shot-put, Javelin Throw, Discus Throw, Musical Station, Tug of War etc. for different age groups. The day culminated in prize distribution ceremony.

Teamwork

"We cannot win in team situations or in relationships by ourselves. It is like trying to pick up a pencil with only one finger...Even if that one finger is extremely strong, it will prove almost impossible to pick up that pencil unless you use your other fingers or some other part of your hand. Teamwork is a bit like using all of your fingers. Each one is unique and contributes something different, but they unite in pursuit of a common goal." ― Terry Orlick
