Credit to 511 beneficiaries distributed under the PM's Money Scheme

NEW DELHI, MAY 17 : Punjab National Bank (PNB), Delhi Zone, organized the credit distribution function (loan fair) at Dr Ambedkar International Center, New Delhi under the Prime Minister's Money Scheme. Currency loans were distributed to 511 beneficiaries belonging to he Scheduled Caste / Tribes / Other Backward Classes and Minorities of the society. Dr Thavarchand Gehlot, Minister of Central Social Justice and Empowerment, and Mr K G Balakrishnan, former Chief Justice and Mr Alok Kumar, Advocate Supreme Court, were present. Hundreds of deprived sections of the society from different parts of Delhi were witness to this program.

This program encouraged micro and small enterprises, to bring them in formal financial system as part of the financial inclusion drive and the expansion of cheap loans started by Prime Minister "Financial Assistance for the needy" Prime Minister was a part of the currency scheme.

In an address the Minister said that with the help of the Prime Minister Money Scheme, the Government focused on greater self-employment of the youth. He appreciated the efforts of PNB on achieving the goal of Antyodaya by increasing the valuable and economical credit to 511 beneficiaries under the Prime Minister's Money Scheme.

Mr Alok Kumar, Advocate appreciated the PNB's extraordinary efforts. He also informed that how Bharti played a key role in providing approximately 180 loan applications from 25 service outlets in the North Eastern district of Delhi. Skill development and related marketing cooperation will be helpful in making money beneficiaries self-employed. He said that the financial assistance given by PNB will make him a long-term employer from employer.

Mr Sunil Mehta, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Punjab National Bank , expressed his gratitude to the bank customers, well wishers and staff members in his address.

Recalling the rich legacy of 123 years of the bank he said that the bank has given adequate attention to the construction of a friendly environment for the development of new established entrepreneurs along with special infrastructure through class specific policies.

The bank has proved its commitment to meeting all the banking needs and focusing on micro and small enterprises with high level customer service.
