As part of the ongoing Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, a Government of India's initiative to celebrate 75 years of India's Independence, Mr Rameswar Teli, MoS Petroleum & Natural Gas and Labour and Employment, honored 75 eminent citizens of Sivasagar, Jorhat and Golaghat districts of Assam in ONGC office premises, Nazira on August 25th, 2021.

The program was graced by Mr Jogen Mohan Assam's e Minister for Revenue and Disaster Management, Hills Area Development, Mines and Minerals, Mr Virendra Mittal, IAS, Personal Secretary to MoS, Director Onshore (ONGC) Mr Anurag Sharma, ED-Asset Manager, Assam Asset, Mr Rajesh Kumar Sharma, ED-Basin Manager, A&AA Basin, Ms Sushma Rawat and GGM (P)-Asset Manager, Jorhat Asset, Mr Satish Kumar Dwivedi.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Teli said the idea of celebrating India's Independence as Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav is conceptualised by the PM of India, Mr Narendra Modi. There are several programmes lined up to commemorate this important of year of India Independence.

The eminent persons who have contributed in various spheres of development of the nation includes Freedom-fighters, Agriculture, Science, Sports, Education and Social Service and were felicitated on the occasion.

ONGC Director (Onshore) observed that these soldiers of India's development are the icons and worthy of emulation by the rest. Mr R K Sharma thanked the Minister of State and Government for giving the great opportunity of felicitating the towering personalities belonging to the operational areas of ONGC. The recipients were presented a Gamosha and a memento.
